Even though Leicester City are currently managerless (it is a word, I looked it up especially for you!), preseason begins in one day on Saturday, July 5. The Foxes will entertain Peterborough United in a friendly at the East Midlanders' Seagrave training facility. In fact, the practice match is set to take place at LCFC Training Ground Match Pitch 1.
Sports Mole have predicted a City XI for the uncompetitive clash. We take a look at the starting lineup forecasted by the media outlet. In addition to that, we assess whether or not the team is similar to the side we expect interim Leicester boss Andy King to deploy on the field. Typically, the King Power club put two different groups out in each half for the earlier and less competitive friendlies.
Managerless Leicester City XI predicted for Peterborough United friendly
First of all, here is SM's possible Leicester starting lineup: Jakub Stolarczyk; Luke Thomas, Wout Faes, Conor Coady, James Justin; Oliver Skipp, Boubakary Soumare; Jordan Ayew, Kasey McAteer, Jeremy Monga; Patson Daka.
OK. Mads Hermansen has been injured following surgery, so no surprises if Stolarczyk takes over. Hermansen is supposedly leaving as well, giving more credence here.
If you read our stuff, you'll know I have never really rated Thomas. Though he is improving and showing metal; an attacking threat would make him a real player. I'd like Coady out of the club ASAP for a plethora of reasons; Faes similarly.
The centre back pairing could still start together. Yet the ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers man is set to sign for Rangers FC in Glasgow. Justin is another with a point to prove. Many of us want Ricardo Pereira or Woyo Coulibaly to start. At least Victor Kristiansen isn't mentioned.
Skipp and Soumare is realistic considering Wilfred Ndidi speculation. Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi's respective fitness should rule them out. With Jamie Vardy gone, the forward line selections appear plausible and exciting with respect to McAteer and Monga.
Peterborough United XI?
Furthermore, they also gave us a potential Peterborough XI: Bass; Hughes, Nevett, Mills Dornelly; Odoh, O'Brien-Brady, Havilland, Frith; Conn-Clarke; Lindgren.
