According to multiple particularly trustworthy sources (more broadsheets than tabloids or rumour mill outlets), former West Ham United centre forward Michail Antonio is training with Leicester City Football Club at present. The powerful and swift striker has reportedly been at City's Seagrave training centre for the final part of the week.
Antonio was initially introduced to the people behind the scenes and met officials to try to get a feel of LCFC's base. Then he will have mixed with players and management as well. The East Midlanders will have wanted to get a feel of the Jamaica international's persona and temperament. But then came the real tests!
Following a near fatal car crash while driving his ferrari in London approximately one year ago, fitness staff belonging to the King Power outfit will have had to put the 35-year-old through his paces. If you would like to, you can read more on Antonio's supposed fitness by clicking here.
Although, I can tell you that he is said to be fit; the man himself confirmed as much. Following all this, it is claimed that Antonio trained with the Foxes squad on the Friday (December 12). A deal now looks extremely likely.
What wages will Michail Antonio be on at Leicester City with transfer seemingly close?
The Times followed on from John Percy's excellent insights for The Telegraph earlier in the week. The former states that the ex-Hammers hitman has impressed whilst sort of on trial.
In addition to that, it is suggested that the veteran player is consequently hoping that an agreement can be found. Maybe he will be signed and readied in time for the Queens Park Rangers game on Saturday, December 20. That is a big one for Marti Cifuentes at Loftus Road!
But will Antonio become the highest paid Fox? Let's have a look:
"Whilst we must stress that these are estimates, Capology claims that he was picking up £85,000 a week with the Hammers last season. For comparison, that would put Antonio as the second-highest earner at the King Power Stadium, with only Harry Winks believed to be on more, although we reiterate that these are only estimates."Football League World
