Newcastle United have made an unsurprising Leicester transfer admission, despite their interest in a Crystal Palace star. Worth noting for Steve Cooper.

In the January transfer window, Newcastle United could attempt to sign Wout Faes from Leicester City. This is not news to Leicester fans, as the Magpies are known to be interested in the centre-back.

Given their ongoing injury crisis and ageing nature of their squad, Newcastle will attempt to sign players. Despite the financial takeover, they have been unable to seek the more premium options.

As it stands, Marc Guehi is believed to be the preferred option for Newcastle United. This is good news for Leicester fans, however, the Crystal Palace asset is one of a few options for Newcastle.

According to a report from Newcastle World, Marc Guehi is one option for Newcastle United, not THE option. In fact, Wout Faes is still considered by the Magpies, who will not put all of their eggs into one basket.

So, there is little respite for Leicester City fans. Faes is not the favourable option for Newcastle but he will not be disregarded, not yet anyway.

In Leicester City's game against Bournemouth before the October international break, Wout Faes was one of the best players. He can be hit-and-miss, but when he is hitting, he hits hard.

Faes was with Leicester City before the relegation and throughout, a key figure in achieving promotion back to the Premier League. Steve Cooper clearly likes him, too.

Understandably, though, Marc Guehi is the preferred choice for the Magpies. The Crystal Palace centre back was their target throughout the summer, but no deal came through.

Guehi spent an incredible summer with the England national team at EURO 2024. He was one of the standout performers as England reached the final, hence Crystal Palace's stubbornness over their valuation.

Leicester fans should hope that Newcastle are more successful in their pursuit for Marc Guehi in January.
