One or two big surprises on Leicester's SELL or KEEP list

Major changes have to occur at Leicester City over the summer, in spite of what fans, or indeed the ownership, desire. When a sports team sink as low as the Foxes hierarchy have forced their own representative side down - finance dictates.

A League One status means anybody in the squad with high wages like Harry Winks or even, surely Oliver Skipp, will have to leave. Winks will probably be edged out of the door irrespective of money: after his ridiculously unprofessional outbursts and general training insubordination.

Skipp appears wanted by a majority, but unlikely to be kept nonetheless. Meanwhile, personnel with any value, such as Ben Nelson and Abdul Fatawu, arguably have to be relinquished for as much cash as possible.

Some senior LCFC stars are too good for the English third-tier, believe it or not! A few earn too much unless wage reductions are agreed. While other pampered and lazy Leicester footballers deserve to have to claw themselves, along with the LE2 club, out of the doldrums!

Which Ballers Leicester City fans actually like

When asked about whom they wish to retain, the Blue Army were, naturally, positive about City youth. Louis Page, Bade Aluko, Jeremy Monga, Will Alves, Sammy Braybrooke and Jake Evans scored highly on Leicester Mercury's poll.

While, slightly surprisingly, Jakub Stolarczyk, Luke Thomas, Hamza Choudhury are wanted too. It is, kind of, easy to see why Stolarczyk keeps some faith, yet his form fell off a cliff last season!

"Oliver Skipp divided opinion less than most. The £20m midfielder has underwhelmed but was not among the worst this season, and 55 per cent opted to keep him."

Thomas is almost entirely unconvincing in any division or competition, against any opposition. It felt time to severe ties with Choudhury after his head grew with international recognition amid dreadful displays. If he accepts a salary decrease and tries harder, his presence would be just about acceptable. Though he did 'commit' to fans.

"Only 12 per cent wanted Abdul Fatawu or Stephy Mavididi retained, and Harry Winks' post-Portsmouth row left just seven per cent backing him."

Michael Golding, a peculiar signing and development effort, polarised. Shockingly, supporters seem to have turned somewhat off Abdul Fatawu; alternatively they expect him to push for an exit so protected themselves from pain.

Unsurprisingly, Winks, Patson Daka, and Jordan Ayew remain unpopular among the Foxes faithful. The monetary reality of Leicester's situation necessitates a cold, clinical dismantling of the current roster. As the club navigates this nadir, the juxtaposition between the idealism of the 'keep' list and the brutal austerity of the balance sheet will define the upcoming transfer window.

The Blue Army's penchant for homegrown talent offers a blueprint for survival. Although, the impending departure of high-calibre assets remains an inevitability that no amount of sentiment can forestall.
