Leicester City Football Club are generally known as an organisation with an eye for talent, expecially in the modern era. Having unearthed gems who have gone on to win everything available to elite footballers from the Premier League, to the Champions League (in multiple cases) will do that. A player the Foxes brought to England and flourished with a couple of teams even went on to lift the World Cup with France.

Besides Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, N'golo Kante and Ben Chilwell, there are more successful former LCFC stars and academy graduates who were or are successful on Filbert Way and elsewhere. While replacing those stand out ballers wasn't always easy in a recruitment sense, the East Midlands side's youth system is exceptional. But sometimes City get it right in the transfer market too.

One case of prosperous transaction with plenty of foresight and a favourable outcome is shining bright at present. Making the Fox in question a permanent addition, following an eye-catching loan, was actually considered a gamble by some as well. Nobody is questioning the acquisition now, because outstanding winger Abdul Fatawu might perhaps have tripled his value. This report claims his worth could potentially be up to £45million to Leicester. Wow.

Incredibly talented wideman Abdul Fatawu said to be worth up to €50m to Leicester City

I would imagine Fatawu would come out top by some way if Foxes of Leicester conducted a Blue Army poll on who's their favourite player at the moment. He isn't just well-liked - the Ghanaian is probably the finest footballer in the squad.

City originally signed the 21-year-old for approval €17m, according to suggestions in the media. So the new valuation is almost three times the value upon arrival in LE2.

"Obviously, Fatawu is not a hidden talent now, and the fact Sunderland made an offer of £28m in the summer shows that there will be a market for the player... But, given his age and ability, the Foxes were right to reject that, as there is a real possibility he could go for a fee closer to the €50m mark in the future."

If Fatawu has another fine season, that figure could well rise even further for a summer sale. I'd prefer he be kept with a 2029 contract expiry.
