Having made the move from Red Bull Salzburg to Leicester, Patson Daka appears to be on the way out of the club. With the Austrian team, he scored 54 goals in 82 appearances. There have been glimpses of his scoring ability with the Foxes, but as evidenced by the overall lack of production in the attack, the Zambian has not seen his past success translate in the Premier League.
According to SportsBoom, the 26-year-old will be leaving during the upcoming transfer window. The exclusive mentioned Everton as a team that is interested in the Zambia international's services for their EPL campaign this upcoming season.
At his best, it's clear that Daka can contribute a lot as a forward. He is athletic and can impose a number of issues for opposing defenses. Particularly in an open attack or off a mistake from the back line, the striker is capable of punishing teams and racking up a lot of goals in a hurry.
His work rate, furthermore, often sees him in an ideal position to either take the ball off a defender or receive a pass in a prime location from his teammate. In terms of having the needed footwork to build in the attack and the ability to poach, he is a complete striker. At Salzburg, his dribbling and shot selection made him a constant threat.
Exit from Leicester City shouldn't surprise anyone
With LCFC it hasn't gone nearly as well. Daka's goal against West Ham capped off a good December result for the Foxes. His touch, pace, and ability to convert a received pass from midfield were on full display against the Hammers.
Since then, however, it has been mostly matches of frustration for him and the City attack. There is a lot of blame to go around. It's hard for any forward to get into a rhythm when playing for a team that is outpossessed the way LCFC has been. Strikers need service and chances. This past year in particular, Leicester have not been able to supply too much in that department.
