Leicester medical set as Cooper instills confidence in Foxes starlets
A medical has reportedly been penciled in for a potential new Leicester City signing. In addition to that, the latest manager at King Power Stadium, Steve Cooper, has already instilled confidence into Foxes starlets.
Will Caleb Okoli end up signing for the east Midlands side? And will Cooper continue his excellent track record of developing up-and-coming exciting youth players at a different club?
Leicester City stars return from holidays for probable gruelling preseason regime
Leicester don't have any competitors left in the Euro 2024 tournament. Every Foxes country has been eliminated. To be fair, there were only two nations containing LCFC stars to begin with. You had former loanee Victor Kristiansen with his country. The full back was joined by goalkeeper Mads Hermansen and centre back Jannik Vestergaard at Denmark.
Wout Faes and Belgium were also knocked out recently. A slightly earlier exit than expected for the Red Devils, I am sure. Therefore Steve Cooper, City's newly installed team boss, can crack on at the top-of-the-range Seagrave training centre.
In fact, much of the squad - presumably including fresh signings Micheal Golding and Bobby De Cordova-Reid - were welcomed back to the ground on Monday. A tough season certainly awaits them: I am sure Cooper will want the collective roster at Marcelo Bielsa-esque fitness levels. This way, the gaffer can execute the frantically dramatic 'all for one' style he is definitely known for.
Steve Cooper starts to inculcate footballing philosophy onto Foxes footballers
As previously mentioned, Cooper's system has been rather dynamic and explosive in the past. Furthermore, he wishes for his team to play for one another: never letting each other down on the pitch. There are certain physical elements which must be achieved in order for this method to succeed. However, professionals young and old have to be mentally strong as well for this plan to come to fruition.
Luckily, the 44-year-old is a competent man-manager with respect to all ages of baller at his disposal. If you weren't aware, the ex-Nottingham Forest chief additionally managed England Under-16 and U-17 outfits. And youthful Foxes acquisition Golding is excited to work under Cooper:
"Some of the players he’s worked with, he has a track record of working with young players so I am just ready to get started under him and take as much information as I can to improve my career.
I spoke to him a day ago and he’s really given me confidence just to believe in myself and show my ability on the pitch when I am here and help the team as much as I can."
Atalanta player Caleb Okoli on way to the King Power?
Okoli's LCFC medical will apparently occur this week. Tuesday and, alternatively, Wednesday were both suggested as possible dates for the test. City are said to have agreed a €15 million fee with the Italians.
