Leicester team news as The Athletic names Foxes transfer target
Leicester meet Birmingham in the FA Cup Fourth Round on Saturday, January 27 at King Power Stadium. First of all, Patson Daka is unlikely to feature even if Zambia are eliminated from AFCON. Secondly and thirdly, Harry Souttar and Kelechi Iheanacho are still on international duty. Meanwhile, Wilfred Ndidi remains injured; Abdul Fatawu is suspended.
Leicester City supposedly eye Coventry City man
The departure of fairly impressive loanee Cesare Casadei leaves a gap to be filled in the Foxes squad. The midfielder wasn't an ever-present in manager Enzo Maresca’s starting lineup, though he made for more than adequate backup and a fine impact substitute on occasion.
When Casadei matures into a more seasoned senior professional at the top level, he will surely have a great career at Chelsea or elsewhere. But City must look forward, not backwards, with no time to waste dwelling on the past. To that end, Maresca has made it perfectly clear that he would like a replacement for the centre of the park.
However, there is talk that Leicester must sell before buying; this update might perhaps coincide with a need to balance the books. Nevertheless, one of the most trusted LCFC sources about, Rob Tanner of The Athletic, claims the east Midlanders would like to sign a Coventry star.
Callum O’Hare is meant to be on the Leicestershire outfit's radar; Tanner added that Maresca has 'options'. Leicester fans will probably remember O'Hare for his eye-catching performance against them. This would be an interesting acquisition indeed - if Foxes recruitment staff can accomplish it.
