Foxes of Leicester comment on transfer rumours after the football media linked the east Midlands side with respective prospective signings. One of the players in question is an international defender, while the other is a midfielder for his national team. Meanwhile, Leeds United - we won't mention the Championship Playoff Final, promise! - and Leicester have a rival in Premier League outfit Newcastle regarding another apparent target. Join us for thoughts on the latest LCFC reports.

Leicester City joined by lower division club and top-flight side in chase for standout Celtic man

Before we get to the most recent Leicester speculation, an old connection is back in the news. It seems like two years or so - after former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers joined - since the Foxes were initially spoken of as a possible destination for Celtic star Matt O’Riley.

Well, the hearsay is back following a pretty inconsequential seeming development. Clearly a capable and classy operator, O’Riley is surely a top footballer who wants to challenge himself in the best division around: the EPL. And, if my opinion counts at all, I believe he has a chance of making the grade.

Of late, Newcastle are said to have started monitoring the long-time City recruitment choice. A Denmark international, O’Riley is also admired by Leeds. Though, due to their disappointing result on Sunday afternoon, the Whites will do well to secure a professional of this calibre right now.

The 23-year-old can play in a number of roles in the middle of the park. He is predominantly a No.8, but can play as a No.6 or a 10. His goals back that last point up dramatically. O’Riley's market value is said to currently be at £13 million approximately.

Leicester City supposedly want specific defender and midfielder - reports

Whilst the King Power club await the results of their supposed Profit and Sustainability Rule breaking, they will conduct business. Or, at least, they will have all of their ducks lined up in a row in advance. Two fresh targets are rumoured to have emerged: impressive young Welshman Jordan James, as well as Slovakian David Hancko.

First of all, James. Another midfielder with an eye for goal. If you ask me, this could be a fine acquisition for City. But West Ham United hold an interest too. Secondly, Hancko. The predominant centreback can also appear as a leftback like Manchester City's Joško Gvardiol. According to claims, LCFC want to 'revamp' their defence; the versatile 26-year-old is arguably ideal for Enzo Maresca's system.
