New contract on the table for important Leicester player

A new contract is apparently set to be readied and then on the table for an important Leicester City player. Will defender Jannik Vestergaard re-sign with the Foxes on a short or long-term deal? And do Foxes of Leicester consider the Denmark international worthy of a fresh and potentially improved agreement? In addition to speaking on that matter, FoL discuss the upcoming match against Middlesbrough in the Championship as LCFC run away at the top of the English second division table.

Vestergaard's betterment and reintegration at Leicester City Football Club should be hailed as a brilliant success by current manager Enzo Maresca. And, not least, a blight on former Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers' man management and uneven record on Filbert Way. Though the towering Dane deserves the most credit for the most extraordinarily dedicated or knowing footballing perseverance I think anybody could remember.

Will the intimidating centrehalf be able to replicate and transition his skills back to the Premier League when Leicester almost certainly arrive in the big time again next season? The jury is out for me at this stage, with regard to that question.

One aspect is for certain: we know that Vestergaard will likely do his best in order to retain his place, and rightly so. However, the former Southampton man's LCFC contract does expire in the summer, so Leicester must make their move soon. There is talk of a coming agreement; more can be read here.
