Premier League bosses are still targeting a hefty punishment for Leicester City Football Club. This claim emerges in spite of the Foxes ownership using an astute and powerful lawyer to supposedly get them off the initial charge. But LCFC's Profit and Sustainability problems just won't desist, with a feeling that the English top-flight wishes to make an example out of the east Midlands outfit.

In addition to that intriguing matter, there is another story more directly related to football, thankfully. Many eyebrows were raised when the Leicester starting lineup was announced for the fixture with Crystal Palace at the weekend. This was partly because three players considered defensive central midfielders began the game.

Further impending PSR danger for Leicester City

Principals at EPL headquarters are said to be, unsurprisingly, "gunning" for the King Power side. But what is expected to happen exactly? And can Leicester wriggle their way out of another PSR issue after embarrassing the division's leaders over their unfair treatment?

Let's see what elite football consultant and former Everton chief executive Keith Wynness had to say about City. He's been following the Leicestershire club's apparent rule breaking and its ramifications over the summer. Ultimately Wyness also commented on what we thought was the culmination of the dreaded events as City seemingly evaded retribution from the PL as well as the Championship.

Now the ex-Toffees official declares that LCFC shall be watched very closely indeed. Wyness actually goes so far as to suggest that Leicester might perhaps be the subject of a great footballing 'twist'.

It is suggested that the Foxes 'appear to have been well short' in their quest for justifiable losses last season. City may now be charged with a separate PSR break from 2023/24. This, again, leaves the possibility of a points deduction penalty.

Why Facundo Buonanotte was omitted from starting XI and the need for a trio of specialist DCMs

Uneven decisions on the pitch from management can lead to a lack of creativity, along with negativity in the middle and going forward. However, we all must get used to the fact fact Wilfred Ndidi is now playing as an eight as opposed to formerly being a six. Not to mention the Nigerian now even pulling off No.10-style moves.

This situation also slightly illuminates the absence of Facundo Buonanotte from the outset. Many fans wished for the 19-year-old to reprise his role in the side.

"On Saturday, it emerged that the attacking midfielder had also undergone a scan, which, fortunately for Cooper and Buonanotte, showed no serious problems.

'He had a scan a few days ago' Cooper said. 'Luckily it wasn’t anything too serious and he made the bench today. It was a real pity for him really because he came on against Villa and did well, and has trained well.

'He would have been in contention to start but we had to be cautious with him. He’ll be back in training when we get back in training and will be in contention next week (against Everton).'"
