A star Leicester City midfielder has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from the Foxes. According to a couple of sources, Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi is now set to leave Leicestershire soon. Premier League side Everton are amongst an apparent host of clubs who would love to sign the versatile and experienced player during offseason 2024.

In addition to offering our view on Ndidi's situation, FoL cover further news from Filbert Way. This includes Nottingham Forest legend Stuart Pearce's comments on the latest boss at King Power Stadium, Steve Cooper. What does the retired England defender think to the Pontypridd-born gaffer?

Stuart Pearce on Steve Cooper

It is intriguing to hear opinions from former elite footballers on the freshly installed Foxes boss. We've had Dion Dublin weighing in this week, and his input was positive. The ex-Manchester United, Cambridge City and Leicester striker (among many other outfits) believes Cooper will ensure LCFC exhibit some eye-pleasing football. Dublin also expects the manager to secure a few 'very good' transfers for the team.

Meanwhile ex-Forest man Stuart Pearce has now offered his expectations too. He claims to have spoken to Cooper via text message since the latter took the helm at City. Pearce, now age 62, managed the Tricky Trees as well as starring for them. So he is ideally placed to evaluate the 44-year-old.

Essentially, Pearce got in touch with Cooper to wish him well at the King Power. The Welshman left his Forest post in December of last year. 'Obviously', the former states, he followed Cooper's career closely at the City Ground.

Pearce was disappointed that Cooper left his beloved club because it was felt that he had done a good job there. The pundit added, encouragingly for Leicester, that he thinks the new head coach will succeed in keeping the Foxes in the Premier League this coming season.

Wilfred Ndidi said to be leaving Leicester City following reportedly declining to re-sign

Judging by the claim on the below post on X, Ndidi has probably played his final game in an LCFC shirt. The source is meant to be The Mirror, so that is definitely worth paying attention to.

While the 27-year-old has been somewhat of a midfield stalwart for City, his departure would not be overly dramatic for the Foxes in my opinion. He's been involved in some great moments, yet maybe a different approach is the way forward.
