Another Leicester City star is now the latest in a lengthening line of coveted Foxes. The winger is supposedly being targeted by a few notable Premier League clubs. While this is going on, there are emerging reports for the potential of some unexpected but friendly competition on Filbert Way next season. These types of typically unwanted situations can surprisingly lead to even better performances, as we saw at English top-flight title contenders Arsenal during the current campaign. Foxes of Leicester have more speculation, news and views for the Blue Army.

While City fans relax and enjoy the summer, knowing that they are back on the greatest domestic stage in world football, there is presently much preparation and hopefully intelligent forethought at King Power Stadium. LCFC will already be ultra busy, regardless of the new campaign being some months away. As is the modern game.

The club are presumably rallying in an attempt to retain the talismanic Jamie Vardy for another year. Meanwhile a separate matter of priority on Filbert Way is securing so far successful manager Enzo Maresca for the foreseeable future.

Vardy could have most likely gone on to a host of clubs around the world if he chose to finally depart the place where he became famous and prosperous. Some offers to the former England international will probably be inviting, lucrative and robust. Whilst other invitations were more undesirable, I imagine.

If rumours are to be believed, Maresca is also a wanted man. His one-time side Sevilla were mentioned as desiring the Italian as their head coach. Yet trustworthy sources such as John Percy of The Telegraph have suggested that striker and manager will respectively remain at Leicester for the coming Premier League term. Thankfully for the Blue Army!

A rival for Mads Hermansen's No.1 shirt?

To the surprise of some journalists, the east Midlands outfit are linked with Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas at the moment. In spite of Hermansen's exhibited quality, I was less shocked to hear talk of prospective competition for the already fairly accomplished Dane.

Keeping top professionals on their toes can be a positive ploy; see Arsenal's stoppers for example. Yet I would have to agree with Leicester Mercury reporter Jordan Blackwell's assertion that Mandas would possibly only be bought if Hermansen is sold. That eventuality is unlikely even with Profit and sustainability problems, due to the 23-year-old's prowess and promise at LCFC.

Although, if winger Kasey McAteer isn't assured of starting or getting extensive minutes, I can see him becoming disillusioned at City. There is hearsay concerning McAteer at present:

"Newcastle, Everton and Crystal Palace are monitoring the situation of Kasey McAteer at Leicester City this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

McAteer, 22, is set to enter the final year of his contract at the King Power, with no new deal on the table as things stand.

All three Premier League outfits are racing to sign the winger and bolster their forward options ahead of the 2024-25 season."
