Vardy indicates when he could retire after irritating Tottenham fans
Leicester City Football Club icon Jamie Vardy has indicated how long he may continue playing for the Foxes. His statement came following a thrilling draw with Tottenham Hotspur at King Power Stadium. Vardy notched a goal against Spurs, of course. Yet, is the great Premier League striker thinking of giving up his professional career soon? Or will the wily Fox carry on until his legs can't carry him anymore. It will be a sad day for the Blue Army when the former England international does eventually decide that it is time to hang up his illustrious boots.
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old was up to his old tricks, beloved and hated as they are. Vardy will have thoroughly annoyed Tottenham supporters by gesturing to them as he was withdrawn from the stalemate affair. But what did he do exactly? And why was he provoked into an appropriate footballing response, along with a retaliation of sorts?
Jamie Vardy winds up Tottenham Hotspur faithful after drawing level
The Leicester City fan base will be waiting a while for Vardy's statue to be built. Not to mention one stand or even the stadium being named after him. Although, one of the first two eventualities is almost certain to transpire.
Similarly to the deadlock situation with his supposed upcoming Hollywood movie, we wait. This is because the final chapter of 'JV9's' incredible story is still being written. We saw on Monday evening that there is much life left in the ageing centre forward as of now. He remains integral at the King Power.
Obviously 'Vards' directly helped LCFC regain parity, and was increasingly impactful as the match went on. By his standards, he should have actually scored a brace. The experienced attacker will be rather upset he missed a one-on-one on his left foot. The City move subsequent to that opportunity was Barcelona-esque.
When Vardy was substituted, he made a gesture to the Tottenham crowd in the corner. This retort occurred after he received stick from the away spectators. That's why Vardy gave the Lilywhites a mouthful when exiting the game.
So, what did he say, or signal, specifically? Basically, 'Vards' reminded the Spurs support that he has in fact lifted the Premier League trophy, unlike their club.
When will Leicester City talisman stop playing?
Never. You heard it here first! But in all seriousness, the legendary pantomime villain appears almost ageless. He was, however, asked how long he plans to go on:
"Do you know what? I literally see it age as just a number. As long as I keep looking after myself and as long as my legs still feel great when I come into training in the morning, games at the weekend, then I’ll carry on for as long as physically possible."
