Relegation always ensures those clubs have an awkward and worrying summer. And that is no different at Leicester City Football Club. In spite of a terrible term back in the Premier League, the East Midlanders actually have some very good assets.

Unfortunately the drop in division, financial concerns and Profit and Sustainability problems might perhaps mean City are forced to relinquish a few standout Foxes. In fact, it is claimed in the media that PSRs could in fact force the King Power team into the rather unexpected sale of one of their star players.

Which Foxes fan favourites are tipped to depart Filbert Way?

Journalists and outlets of varying degrees of reliability have often spoken about the LCFC squad and what may happen during preseason. And that speculation began way before the Foxes were relegated in 2024/25. For example, Danny Ward and Daniel Iversen were correctly predicted to go.

While Jamie Vardy's exit was more of a sudden surprise for some people in the Blue Army fan base. But more footballers will leave Leicester in the offseason. Unfortunately one or two departures may perhaps be the best players on the roster.

The first two who come to mind are Mads Hermansen and Bilal El Khannouss. The goalkeeper is a likely leaver. Meanwhile the playmaker is widely admired by EPL sides too, if we believe reporting.

Profit and Sustainability issues could make Leicester City unexpectedly sell winger Stephy Mavididi

Sadly, another outstanding City man has been added to the unknown, or the danger list. Mavididi is one of few professionals at LCFC who can still hold their head high following the disastrous previous campaign.

I can guarantee you that Leicester supporters would much prefer to keep Mavididi than sell him. Nevertheless, the rumour is detailed below:

"Serie A duo Atalanta and Bologna have been keeping tabs on Mavididi for some time as they look to bolster their attacking options, while Spanish side Villarreal are also admirers of the former Juventus man.

The Foxes could be forced to listen to offers for some of their prized assets due to concerns over Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) after being charged for further breaches last month."

There is one positive here: the wing department is one of the Leicestershire outfit's best stocked areas. We have Abdul Fatawu, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Jordan Ayew, and possibly Jeremy Monga and Jake Evans.
