Russell Martin has now been in the Leicester City hot-seat for nearly a month.
It will be a very pressurised job for the Scotsman, after failing to ever get started at Rangers. On top of that, the expectation from the Leicester masses is that they'll immediately leap out of League One, after suffering the shame of back-to-back relegations.
He is yet to welcome in a single summer signing, but he has been busy reshaping the Foxes behind the scenes, with Conor Hourihane - who enjoyed a similarly distinguished EFL career to Martin - recently announced as his assistant manager.
Having managed Barnsley last season in the third tier, the Irishman does have some understanding of the complexities of the punishing level. Alongside the former Aston Villa midfielder turned coach joining, Rhys Owen has also arrived as the new fitness coach.
It's all shaping up nicely, with Martin wanting to welcome another fresh face to his backroom staff, according to reports.
The next coach who could join Martin
According to journalist Alan Nixon, who loves breaking the latest EFL rumours, Martin wants to add Milton Keynes Dons goalkeeping coach Tom Weal to his new-look team of coaching personnel.
It is being reported that Weal comes highly recommended to Martin by Mike Williamson, who worked alongside the 36-year-old at Milton Keynes Dons, when Williamson was briefly manager of the League One newboys.
This is significant, as Williamson was very recently with Martin during his disastrous reign at Ibrox, as well, with it being noted by Nixon that Martin and the out-of-work coach remain close companions.
Weal has taken up goalkeeping coach roles at the likes of Carlisle United, and Sunderland, too, so he is well-versed in travelling up and down the country to take up a new job at a moment's notice.
This could well mean he's chosen as Leicester's new goalkeeping coach very shortly, with a vacancy still present, after Javi Ortiz's exit.
While Martin will be excited by the prospect of Weal joining, so another puzzle piece is sorted out, Leicester fans will be desperate for some action in terms of incoming signings.
Leicester fans will want more
Weal will fill a vacancy that should've been sorted out sooner if he does arrive, but there needs to be some transfer activity shortly to raise the excitement levels for supporters.
Amazingly, Weal could well arrive to the building with only senior keeper in Martin's camp to develop, with rumours circulating that Jakub Stolarczyk could be off this summer. Additionally, no further developments have arose as to whether Asmir Begovic is staying, having been offered a contract at the close of last season.
Another keeper in through the door will be deemed a signing that makes sense, therefore, with Hourihane no doubt wanting to get his teeth sunk into developing some bright midfield talents, too, considering his past playing expertise, as Leicester possibly wins the signature of Justin Devenny this summer.
Everything at the moment at the King Power feels as if it's been done at a snail's pace, with Weal's arrival hopefully followed up with some signings, before the new season arrives on the calendar in August.
