It feels increasingly likely that Souttar will depart, even though manager Russell Martin has made it perfectly clear he wants to keep the central defender and even named him captain for the EFL Cup win over Northampton Town at the weekend. That decision possibly affected the player, who turned in an awkward performance by all accounts.
