It is very sad to occasionally see some Leicester City fans turning on their own. Here, our job is to critique the form of players. And we certainly criticise Foxes on a regular basis whilst suggesting changes and ploys to exploit the opposition. Obviously we constantly single out LCFC stars and up-and-coming prospects for praise too. It's a balance; business - not personal.
The good of the team is our main priority in assessing every element. That's why it is awkward when reading uniformed, along with nasty, social media comments about athletes. So-called supporters lambasting their would-be heroes on Twitter (X) after a poor performance and/or result. The faithful (in this case a few people who claim to be members of the Blue Army) would be more useful by constructively outlining issues.
Abusing footballers is nothing new. It was wrong in the past when typically shouted at someone in person; now it's usually conducted by even more reprehensible cowards behind computer screens.
Back-up City goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk is the most recent unfortunate recipient of negative attention. Though his treatment is more thoughtful and generally better than many observers would have expected. The Pole was recently promoted to starter due to Mads Hermansen's fitness and Danny Ward's incompetence, with all due respect. So, what's been said about Stolarczyk?
Jakub Stolarczyk is doing all right and shows Premier League promise
Comparatively to Danny Ward, Stolarczyk's recent first team appearances how been satisfactory. Yes, the east Midlands side lost both matches but he showed glimpses of solid shot-stopping. Not to mention showcasing composure and an aptitude for playing with his feet.
The fixtures were also against (albeit struggling) champions Manchester City, and a visit to rampant Liverpool at Anfield. Although he could be questioned for Mohamed Salah's soft goal and somewhat feeding Sávio, Stolarczyk exhibits potential. But how have Foxes fans assessed the 24-year-old?:
Naturally the more intelligent fans also offered opinion:
