Strange new Coady claim emerges as Leicester signing impresses

A strange new claim has emerged about a Leicester City defender. Conor Coady is apparently considered an influential and important part of the Foxes squad. That is according to manager Ruud van Nistelrooy anyway. Coady seemed to be a bit of a van Nistelrooy teacher's pet for a while. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers man started every one of the Dutchman's initial games.

Though the 31-year-old was never anything like totally convincing in the LCFC starting lineup to many of us in the Blue Army. Besides, untimely links then connected him with an abrupt exit from King Power Stadium. Sadly for the club, and the player's reputation on Filbert Way, Coady was accused of 'pushing' for a move back to his old club Wolves in January. Not good!

This suggestion came at an unfortunate time too: when the east Midlands side were obviously already struggling. Not to mention facing relegation at an early stage due to such poor form. Coady lost some respect from a few of us supporters when that ostensible news was revealed. Yet since Coady was linked to WWFC and van Nistelrooy stuck up for him - he's been dropped.

Meanwhile one more recent Leicester signing has impressed during his sparing appearances. Woyo Coulibaly, who was the sole acquisition to arrive in January, covered for the often insufficient and now injured James Justin at right back against Arsenal. Coulibaly gave a fine display and showed that he may improve on the England international. Something we kind of saw coming here.

Leicester City centre back Conor Coady still wanted for transfer

If Coady did truly push to leave - Leicester should get rid of him as soon as possible! Conveniently, a curiously timed, reported opportunity to do so has materialised:

New Leicester City full back catches the eye

This is what is being said of Coulibaly and Justin:

"The England international then returned to the bench wearing a protective boot on his right foot. He will be assessed this week, with hopes that it’s not a repeat of a previous Achilles issue.

However, should Justin be ruled out for a sustained period, van Nistelrooy can take solace in the fact Coulibaly looks more than capable of helping the club’s survival bid.

In what was the Frenchman’s longest outing so far, he looked defensively strong, shutting down Raheem Sterling and making a match-leading six tackles and interceptions.

He also looked handy in possession too and played plenty of passes forward into the attackers’ feet."
