The working environment at Leicester City in recent years has become very stale, as the Foxes have depended on stars who consistently haven't been able to deliver the goods.

Indeed, Patson Daka's goalscoring woes haven't just come to the forefront this season, as relegation to League One was confirmed. Daka only scored one Premier League goal during the 2024/25 season, with Enzo Maresca also utilising him sparingly when the Foxes hoisted the Championship title aloft.

It's very much a case of out with the old and in with the new for Leicester this summer, as Gary Rowett's disastrous reign is pushed to one side, for a fresh manager to come in, alongside the playing personnel being given a necessary update.

This refresh won't just occur with new signings galore joining the King Power ranks, with several youth players now deserving of first-team chances, after being chucked out on loan to the lower depths of the EFL.

The Leicester youngsters who could finally be handed chances

The obvious shout here is Sammy Braybrooke, who has now returned to Leicester this off-season, after Chesterfield's playoff campaign came to a crashing halt at the hands of Notts County.

Despite this playoff disappointment, Baybrooke will be returning to the Foxes this summer, ready to give first-team football a go, having amassed two goals and four assists for the Spireites as a creative midfield spark.

Even players who struggled to make an impact out on loan, away from their boyhood club, will be hoping a clean slate at the King Power means they are welcomed back with open arms, with Will Alves only featuring 12 times for Huddersfield Town last season, scoring one goal in the process.

That goal would come on his debut for the Terriers, no less, so he does know how to pop up with goals in the demanding league, so the Leicester-born attacker might well be near the first-team ranks at his boyhood club when the new season kicks off.

Jayden Joseph is another face who has only ever known U21s football at Leicester, who will be champing at the bit to break into the senior scene next season, having played against Braybrooke last campaign in League Two with Tranmere Rovers.

Joseph very much deserves a first team chance at Leicester

Joseph would have been itching for a loan heading into the 2025/26 season, having accumulated six goals and three assists in the U18s and U21s ranks at his boyhood club, over a weighty 70 appearances.

At 20 years of age, he was deemed ready for a formative loan spell, and he excelled - away from home comforts - with Tranmere, even if the Birkenhead-based club became swamped in a relegation battle at the foot of the League Two.

Collecting three goals and three assists across 35 appearances, Joseph would slot into the Super White Army first team picture in several different positions, playing as a right midfielder, left midfielder, right-back, left-back, and as an attacking midfielder.

The pick of the bunch from his slim goal back catalogue for Tranmere would be this sumptuous first-time strike, hitting the back of the net against Cheltenham Town in April, as Rovers won 3-1 to pick up a big three points to beat the drop.

The homegrown ace's versatile nature, alongside this ability to conjure up a moment of magic from nothing, will surely mean he's viewed as a valued part of the first team this season to come, by whoever does replace Rowett.

Noted as being a "top player" to work alongside by his former Tranmere boss Pete Wild, the future does look very bright for the 20-year-old at Leicester, as a new batch of heroes emerge at the King Power, ready to make the Foxes instant League One champions.
