As is always the case in any competitive contest, some players let you down. While others courageously stand up and are counted as those to rely on. I don't think we can name too many players from Leicester City Football Club in that second category there. Although, most of the squad can be dumped in the first section judging by this season!
All in all and on paper, a point at Bristol City's Ashton Gate Stadium is actually decent. Very decent indeed. It is just that from a two-goal position - it is akin to losing in the fan base's collective view. For a team in the Foxes' current predicament to squander two points is a true disappointment.
Anyway, the match is done and dusted, as they say. So there is no point in crying over spilled milk, as it were. Though analysing the areas and situations in which City failed or fell short of the required mark is our job. Not to mention that outlining and addressing shortcomings is the only real way to learn from failure whilst simultaneously resolving those issues.
To that end, let's see how the media rated the East Midlands outfit versus the Robins on Wednesday evening.
Leicester City winners and losers after draw against Bristol City in English Football League Championship
First of all, let's begin with the LCFC goalkeeper and his loyal, if not impenetrable, defence. Jakub Stolarczyk received a '6' rating; he was beaten twice at the near post. That is a true goalkeeping faux pas.
Defensively, it wasn't great. Typically, Luke Thomas was the lowest rated defender with a 5. But I am lauding his crossing and incredible long throw-in capacity.
Oliver Skipp and Jordan James's (now inured) 6s are concerning. While Bobby De Cordova-Reid was mildly praised (7).
"Patson Daka: He didn’t offer an outlet at all. The balls up to him weren’t great, but the Bristol City defenders found it too easy against him. 4"LCFC Live
Wingers Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi scored reasonably respectable 7s. Meanwhile, Jordan Ayew (6) and his substitute replacement Patson Daka (4) were not appraised well at all.
