Leicester City entered a new low in their long and storied history on Saturday afternoon at King Power Stadium. The East Midlands outfit had never lost a league game to Burton Albion prior to the weekend, obviously that has all changed now as Russell Martin gets his imposter claws into the Foxes.

To lose 2-1 to the Brewers at home after drawing to Notts County previously is already unacceptable. Is the former MK Dons, Swansea City, Southampton and Rangers manager's job at LCFC already under pressure?

Possibly not yet, as you can learn by clicking here; a dismissal may come soon enough though, due to possible clauses etcetera, even with questionable finances on Filbert Way.

Leicester City disappointments

Regarding the atrocious action in Leicestershire, Oliver Skipp was dismissed in the first half, which gave City a mountain to climb in spite being behind by that time. The sending-off came amid a dismal team performance, and the player ratings tell a revealing story of who struggled most on a bitterly disappointing afternoon.

Skipp was far and away the lowest-rated player on the pitch, earning a mere 2/10 for his display before his early exit from the contest. Goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, defender Caleb Okoli and centre back Harry Souttar were all handed '4' scores, reflecting deeply under-par performances at both ends of the pitch.

Meanwhile Bade Aluko, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Tommy Watson and Louis Page received modest 5 marks. Luke Thomas, Sammy Braybrooke, Liam Cullen, Will Alves, Admir Bristric and Hamza Choudhury all stood at solid yet unspectacular 6s.

"Skipp was rated 2/10. Alex McCarthy, Okoli and Souttar received 4/10. Burns and Howell were the highest at 7/10. Luke Thomas, Sammy Braybrooke, Cullen, Alves and Admir Bristric were given 6/10, as was Choudhury. Bade Aluko, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Watson and Louis Page were marked 5/10."

Only two footballers could hold their heads high, with Wes Burns and Harry Howell both earning the highest ratings of 7 respectively on a day when almost everyone in blue fell well below the expected standard. Burns’ goal just before half-time offered brief hope that, sadly, quickly faded.
