A midfield to create and defend
With the future of Bilal El Khannouss, Boubakary Soumare, and Wilfred Ndidi uncertain, Leicester City might be forced into a corner with their midfield. They have the ever-impressive Harry Winks and big signing Oliver Skipp which I would expect should stay, but otherwise the East Midlands club could be looking to sign or promote.
In terms of promotions, there is a player who could take up each of the three usual roles: a defensive midfielder, a progressive/retentive midfielder, and a creative midfielder. If Khannouss does depart, then Will Alves would almost definitely stay. The Englishman is insanely talented. With neat tricks, flare, technical passing and a keen instinct to get the ball to dangerous places, Alves will be the major attacking talent the Foxes want over the next couple of seasons.
However, Henry Cartwright and Sammy Braybrooke would take up the other two roles. Braybrooke have been a high potential defensive midfielder with a brilliant technical pass, an accurate long pass over top, and a passion to disrupt plays for some time. The English midfielder is a major contender to be involved next season, and with all that talent just waiting to be experienced and given game time, the future is promising.
Cartwright contributes with goals and assists as a box-to-box progressive player. Whenever Leicester's academy star collects the ball from the DM or defence, his first instinct is where can he move into or who can he pass to sideways to break the press. A large number of the LCFC's youth sides' attacks start from Cartwright breaking through midfield or linking up with wingers and overlapping fullbacks.
