One formerly standout Premier League manager is said to be Leicester City's first-choice. Will this well-known gaffer arrive at King Power Stadium this summer? First of all, the Foxes hierarchy must relieve Ruud Van Nistelrooy of duty on Filbert Way. Is that eventuality likely by the end of the season in late May? And what is our verdict on Sean Dyche?
State of play
Ruud van Nistelrooy is somehow still the manager of the Leicester City team. Following drubbing after drubbing and then an unceremonious relegation from the Premier League, the Dutchman's prospects on Filbert Way appear bleak. Only one or two of his decisions at King Power Stadium were considered progressive for the side, though.
Arguably, most other elements he oversaw could have been different or better. Although, the one-time Manchester United interim boss had next-to-no help from an often floundering Foxes squad. The roster will change dramatically over the next few months ahead of a probably challenging Championship campaign.
Yet next season is clearly one where City can triumph and return to the glory of the English top flight. Should they appoint the right man to lead their men, of course.
This rudimentary but serious ex-Premier League manager is reportedly Leicester City's first-choice to replace Ruud van Nistelrooy
Sean Dyche at Leicester? I mean, I've found this scenario totally foreseeable for around three years or so now. The once very successful Burnley head coach stood out for particularly positive reasons at Turf Moor.
And Dyche is possibly what was needed at LCFC for the gruelling and still running 2024/25. But for a rebuild and ascension from tier two - I'm not so sure. In spite of his obvious qualities. Nevertheless, the Kettering-born boss is apparently in the frame for the main Foxes role.
"Now, according to the latest reports from The Sun, Dyche is seen as the man to get Leicester out of the Championship at the first time of asking by some of the leading figures in the club's hierarchy."Football League World
Dyche left the Clarets in 2022 after amazingly and inexplicably guiding them to the Europa League Playoff Round in the 2018/19 term. The 53-year-old was solid but maybe monotonous at Everton.
