Two feasible factors, which may occur, would likely save Marti Cifuentes' job at Leicester City Football Club. According to a few reports, along with using general common sense and historical knowledge, the sack is looming for the Catalonian gaffer. Although one of the possible scenarios does sadly feel unlikely at this stage. Meanwhile the other is a mere technicality, if you will. Please allow me to explain the Foxes hierarchy's difficult position - which is all of their own doing.

How the Blue Army feel

Obviously I can't speak for Leicester's fan base in its entirety. I can't actually tell you precisely what is in any supporter's mind - only my own. However, supporting the team for around 30 years and seeking information on and writing about the East Midlanders every day gives me a slight understanding of the circumstances.

To be honest, reading various #LCFC posts on social media would give anybody the incling that all is not well on Filbert Way. Though we must trust that (often intense) users of sites such as 'X' are being truthful.

Athough we don't need to, because the loyal Foxes fans who actually attend home and away games have spoken. And they are not best pleased with the club hierarchy; nor recruitment. In addition to noticing and lambasting the poor way City is run, Cifuentes is beginning to lose the thin layer of trust any new head coach automatically receives.

Identifying two arguably improbable yet possible situations that would most likely ensure Marti Cifuentes remains at Leicester City in spite of threat of potential dismissal from manager role

So which elements could help Cifuentes remain at City? First of all, a factor which is crystal clear: start winning regularly. Leicester face 22nd placed Norwich City on Saturday; loss on Carrow Road could spell exit for the 43-year-old.

"Pressure is building on Cifuentes, and you’ve obviously got that unwelcome international break, which leaves a lot of managers looking over their shoulders."
Ex-Man United chief scout Mick Brown, FI

Yet a separate and negative component of LCFC may offer reprieve to Cifuentes: finance. Do you recall that failed, former Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy was reportedly not sacked for months due to funding or Profit and Sustainability issues?

"That gives the club a bit of time to make a decision about the manager. The run of form, it’s not good enough for a team with a squad like Leicester as well."

It costs money (or compensation) to sack and rehire staff, especially at this level. Depending on The King Power International Group's Leicester balance sheet, the ex-Queens Park Rangers man could slip through the cracks despite form.

Albeit Leicester would have some major placating to do with the faithful if that eventuality transpires. Do look out for our upcoming 'possible next Leicester manager' articles!
