The transfer market can bring all sorts of excitement, wonder and, ultimately, anticlimactic let downs. There are, of course, many significant - and less important - signings over the course of the summer and winter windows too. All in all, quite a few observers think a lot of the information and even eventual deals begin as smokescreens. Alternatively, they are intended ruses in order for football agents and managers to obtain what they desire; regardless of what their client wishes for or seemingly requires.

Leicester City were undeniably caught up in a difficult, or impossible, situation in that regard recently. When a very talented yet very immature asset suddenly demands to leave, a club is in an instant predicament. For example, the organisation can be justifiably stubborn and prevent their contracted player from going anywhere, almost out of spite, or for the supposed good of the team. Yet having somebody around who doesn't want to be is invariably counterproductive.

A hypothetically outfit with this problem on their hands (many have been in this situation) can also choose to go in another direction: agreeing a deal. Preferably a particularly lucrative one! Unfortunately for City, they were possibly forced to relinquish one such uncontrollable yet adept 'star'. And, annoyingly, the equally irritating baller in question is now winning praise and comparisons to legends of the game. The unruly Bilal El Khannouss, whom Leicester City let go, is now being compared to Netherlands and Bayern Munich icon Arjen Robben.

El Khannouss is now at VfB Stuttgart in Germany. And he's doing well. We don't wish any ex-Foxes (he's actually on loan but extremely unlikely to return to King Power Stadium) bad luck. Though his behaviour in forcing a move was pathetically unacceptable. So what's happening with the Morocco international?:

"He’s made a positive start to life in the Bundesliga, with two goals in four games to date. El Khannouss has also got one goal in two games in the Europa League.

This is where the comparison to Robben comes in. The newspaper explains the Dutch legend made a speciality of cutting in from the wing and scoring, with few unable to stop him when he did it. The Leicester City loanee is doing something similar, with his three goals coming from a similar movement. He’s on his way to establishing the move as his own ‘personal trademark’."
