Last night (Monday, January 5) was a good night for Leicester City Football Club. The Foxes managed to be victorious against a Midlands foe with only a few minutes to spare. That came after some fairly uneven performances transpired, amid an occasional strange display from the Foxes squad, like that of Hamza Choudhury, as I saw the game.

Even goalkeeper and Man of the Match Jakub Stolarczyk wasn't immune to the odd mistake, which luckily he got away with. Another point of view is that the Pole was the one who saved us against West Bromwich Albion. Stolarczyk certainly did put massive effort into completing some fine saves. Though his weak and ill-advised punching and spilling fairly soft shots may have looked better than it was to some wearing their Blue-tinted spectacles.

The stopper definitely should have gathered one or two of the late attempts; as opposed to palming into a dangerous area. Although Stolarczyk did the business on the evening, at one stage early on he looked very frustrated and not at his best. At least he managed to produce a more than satisfactory end to the WBA clash.

Ricardo Pereira was another in the City backline who was praised but was actually at fault for quite a few errors as the Baggies got more into the fixture. Again, when watching the contest back again the next day as I have, the Portuguese appeared sloppy, immobile and out of place at times.

Ironically Abdul Fatawu, Leicester's brilliant yet mercurial and often inconsistent wingman, did not give a great account of himself overall. However, having the quality to score a sublime volley with Jordan James blocking his view on 94 minutes is why you almost never substitute a potentially top tier talent such as the Ghanaian. The eventual match-winner was only handed a '6' rating from Jordan Blackwell at Leicester Mercury. Therefore you can probably better understand my points regarding Stolarczyk and Ricardo - it's a thin margin between success and failure at this level, coupled with the pressure.
