The Blue Army is definitely split by the appointment of Russell Martin. Yet that cavern appears hugely unfairly separated when analysing online comments and considering previous polls run by this outlet and other enquiries of the Leicester City Football Club support.

Indeed, this writer recalls seeing an outnumbering amount of negative or unwelcome, so to speak, comments regarding Martin's potential tenure in LE2. There are other factors, along with a subtext, at play here too, as highlighted in a recent examination of the situation by BBC Sport.

Martin must revive his flailing career that took a nosedive like Tom Daley lately. Albeit City have technically hired a manager few people would have expected to lower himself to the third-tier, representing a coup of sorts, although nothing (such as promotion) is a given.

Meanwhile, certain Foxes amongst the faithful (yours truly included) have reached a detachment. Martin, as should anyone, deserves get a fair shot in the hot seat. Good luck, Russell; without a hint of sarcasm, nor pessimism!

So that is the view of one of your Foxes of Leicester bloggers, but how about other members of the support? Well, BBC Sport undertook a questionnaire to that end.

Leicester City fans on Russell Martin

First of all, Keith rightly labels this a decent League One hire. He recalls few Foxes wanting Claudio Ranieri initially, highlighting the volatility of supporter opinion. Admittedly, the author actually welcomed 'Uncle Claudio' and labelled him a "winner" in 2015 - with a receipt!

"We have to realise that we are a Third Division club and the board has done well to secure the services of someone with significant experience, so let's give him a chance."

While Steve has taken opinions to the extreme by claiming that no Leicester fan wanted Martin, in fact. He also oddly predicts a third consecutive relegation for the club.

"I don't think a single Leicester City fan wants Russell Martin to be our manager. In fact, I think if you had asked Leicester fans who we would least like to be the new manager, his name would have topped the list. Leicester City are in for a relegation battle in the coming season."
'Steve'

Simon has an intriguing viewpoint regarding the path forward. He suggests that even if things do not begin brilliantly, Martin still requires time and minimal fan pressure in order to succeed in the demanding environment of King Power Stadium.
