We try to get to the bottom of all confusion, ambiguous or inexplicable situations of Leicester City Football Club, as you know. Well, at least we will always attempt to decipher, explain and offer our viewpoint on every matter affecting or reportedly connected to the Foxes. That's our job!

Today is no different, as we look at an almost forgotten Fox - before he even got going with the first team. Wout Faes and Jannik Vestergaard now seemingly combine to form LCFC head coach Marti Cifuentes' defensive partnership. And Caleb Okoli is very much in the background following being moved from the foreground.

Where does all this leave Ben Nelson? The promising centre back was expected to walk into the City lineup this season under the Catalan. All of us Leicester pundits and writers pretty much wrongly predicted that scenario. Cifuentes clearly had other ideas. So what's happening exactly with Leicester's young but highly regarded prospect?

What's happening with Leicester City centre back Ben Nelson?

To be blunt but fair, Cifuentes obviously preferred other defenders to the former Oxford United loanee. Even after receiving the No.4 shirt number, an indication of future involvement, Nelson has only featured once during this campaign.

The LCFC Academy product isn't the youngster on the block anymore either. He is now 21 years old after all, and will be aiming to solidify himself here or elsewhere.

According to EFL Analysis, that eventuality could potentially be the actual case. Leicester might perhaps look to ship Nelson out on loan again in the New Year.

However, the same outlet also claim that City are indeed 'desperate' to keep the CB at King Power Stadium. Their Blue Army fan base will he relieved to hear so, I'm sure.

The Telegraph's Midlands guru, John Percy, revealed that Premier League bids emerged too. Though LCFC set a high price and held firm. Injury potentially disrupted involvement too.

"The Foxes set a hefty asking price, successfully fending off those who wanted to sign him. None of the interested clubs are named, nor is it said whether they retain their interest ahead of January."
