While there is much uncertainty at Leicester City Football Club right now, the Blue Army fan base can take comfort and promise from one or two factors. One constant (as others desert) should be the underrated impact of a player who's been with the Foxes since the tender age of eight. And LCFC really need footballers who care about the team at the moment. In that sense, and others, this is why Kasey McAteer may be vital for the East Midlanders in the Championship next season.

Wholesome McAteer content

Jamie Vardy scoring his 200th goal was a wonderfully predictable moment for the striker himself, his family, the supporters and LCFC as an organisation. There was another Fox who was heavily involved in celebrations on that day versus Ipswich Town in the Premier League.

McAteer also celebrated another famous Vardy goal at King Power Stadium years ago. When Vards netted for Leicester in the home match with Villa in 2015/16, many of us in attendance felt the side possessed something special. Not that the crowd could have ever expected to win that campaign's EPL title.

The winger was there that day as a ballboy too. He was captured celebrating JV9's finish with his Foxes academy friend. Below you can see McAteer's reaction upon being shown the footage. This means something to the Republic of Ireland man!

Why Kasey McAteer could well end up being vital for Leicester City next season irrespective of who is the Foxes manager

While McAteer has always been seen as one for the future or a kind of supersub in the making, he has the ability to claim a starting role on Filbert Way. Versatility-wise, he can play across the front line.

There was recently talk about his goal-poaching aptitude as well. So look out for a more forward role for McAteer during preseason fixtures. He scored six in tier two previously.

Either way the City-committed 23-year-old will want to impress whoever is in charge and transition into a starter. We truly need those who want to be at LCFC. Without any decent strikers, we also require goal threats.
