Leicester City's group of up-and-coming footballers appear to be way out of their league, so to speak. For instance, LCFC possesses an elite, world-class training ground in the lauded Seagrave facility, a cornerstone for the ambitious youth recruitment drive that has defined the club's strategy over the past four years or so.

This is a Premier League youth set-up that was unceremoniously resigned to the English Football League Championship, and subsequently sent to basement division, League One. Although, having exceptional young professionals now appears to be the only industry or department the Foxes management and ownership are flourishing in, while everything else remains a seeming nightmare at present.

It is truly baffling how the ordinary culinary, club shop, and stewardship staff have dealt with LCFC's structural downfall on a daily basis; they have been let down just as deeply as the LE2 fan base. However, all this institutional turmoil means even the one successful area, player development, is currently under severe threat.

Leicester City assets like Darren Motsi at risk

This talent drain risks seeing promising stars turn their heads toward better-placed outfits, following in the footsteps of players like Jeremy Monga; the Coventry-born starlet is supposedly heading to Arsenal. Indeed, talk of Manchester United eyeing up the likes of Ben Nelson, Bade Aluko and Louis Page only serves to deepen the palpable anxiety among the Leicester faithful.

The latest young Fox alleged to be courted is the 15-year-old midfielder Darren Motsi. Already an England Under-16 international, the teenager is regarded as an extremely technically gifted playmaker who combines remarkable football intelligence with an innate physical ability to shield the ball under pressure.

Certain reports and reporters currently suggest Liverpool have accelerated their pursuit to win the race for his signature. Meanwhile Manchester City are said to be discussing a potential move internally, implying a deal is not yet done.
