Leicester City: Ranieri signs new four-year deal

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has officially signed a new four-year deal with the foxes, the club website confirmed this morning.

Ranieri has stated in the past that he would like to retire with Leicester City being his last job. With a new deal being signed this morning, he clearly has ambitions of further success with the foxes after winning the Premier League last season.

With his previous contract ending in 2 years, his new deal will see him managing Leicester City until at least 2020 and is reportedly with up to £3m per year.

Speaking to the club website, the 64 year old Italian said:

After bringing Champions League football to Leicester for the first ever time in the clubs history and winning the Premier League title, the first ever top flight title in the clubs history, Mr. Ranieri deservedly won the ‘Premier League Manager of the Season’ award for his triumph.

Vice chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha was delighted that Ranieri signed the new deal, also speaking to the club website he said:

Leicester City are set to face Hull City on Saturday in their first game of the season. After captain Wes Morgan, Jamie Vardy, Kasper Schmeichel and Andy King all signed new deals, Leicester have managed to keep the spine of the team in tact despite losing their engine in N’Golo Kante to Chelsea.
