Leicester City: £20m bid inbound for Burnley’s star defender

After failing to acquire Burnley defender Michael Keane’s signature in the summer, Leicester City are looking to put in another bid for his services.
Leicester City tried to sign the young defender back in the summer transfer window however they hit a dead end as they could not agree a price for Keane with Burnley.

The foxes placed a £15m bid on ex-Leicester City youngster Michael Keane in the summer and despite the defender being interested in a move back to the King Power Stadium where he played over 20 games during his loan spell from Manchester Untied, it never took place.
The Sun are reporting that Leicester City head of recruitment Eduardo Macia, who took over from Steve Walsh following his departure to Everton to become their ‘Director of Football’, was at the Burnley game on Saturday during their 3 – 2 win at home.

Burnley currently sit in 9th place on the Premier League Table following their promotion back up to the Premier League, conceding just one goal more than the league leaders Liverpool.
A large part of their impressive defensive displays have been credited to Leicester City target Michael Keane.
Burnley held Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United to a 0 – 0 draw and beat Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
Keane’s impressive performances have reignited Leicester’s interest and this has Burnley boss Sean Dyche questioning whether he can hold onto his star defender.

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri will be keen to acquire Michael’s services as both club captain Wes Morgan and the towering Robert Huth are both 32 years old and playing at the top level along with Champions League football takes a toll on all players, especially those in the higher age bracket.

Should Leicester choose to place another bid for Keane in the January window, the thought of Champions League football may be too much to resist.
