Foxes in the market: Leicester City to move for Sevilla midfielder
Leicester City are planning a move to make a move for Sevilla midfielder Vicente Iborra, according to Sky Sources.
Leicester City are resigned to lose Riyad Mahrez to a Premier League rival, possibly Arsenal, as reports suggest a £35 million deal being reportedly agreed. His exit could potentially speed up the move for Vicente Iborra, who would cost the Foxes a mere £12 million.
The 29-year old recently featured against Leicester City in their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie which Atletico won 2-1 on aggregate. Apparently, that’s when the defensive-midfielder caught City’s eye and was seen as the perfect kind of player to have in the middle of the park.

While some might question replacing a forward with a holding midfielder, it appears to be a step in the right direction after all of the Foxes’ defensive struggles since the days of N’Golo Kante.
The former Levante player is strong in the air, a leader and a powerhouse on the field because of his physical attributes, making him just about the best that Leicester can get as a replacement for Kante with their available budget.
As stated earlier, any deal for Vicente Iborra will depend on the transfer of Mahrez actually taking place. Shall there be an agreement in place for the Algerian winger, the Sevilla midfielder could be a Leicester player as earlier as this week.

Earlier this year, Sunderland were one of the sides to have considered bringing in Iborra, but as was the case with most of their targets, they simply failed to get him. West Ham United are also rumoured to have shown some interest.
