Kelechi Iheanacho is set to have a medical at Leicester City on Tuesday ahead of his proposed move from Manchester City.

The highly rated Manchester City forward will become the Foxes’ fourth summer signing, following the arrivals of Hull City’s Harry Maguire and Eldin Jakupovic, and Sevilla’s Vicente Iborra.

The Foxes had agreed a deal in principle to sign the 20-year old almost three weeks back; however, a rather strange delay – reported to be relating his image rights – has meant that the deal hasn’t come any way near its completion.

Addressing a press conference last week, Craig Shakespeare confirmed that Leicester City were indeed after a striker, though he didn’t name the player. Pep Guardiola was equally tight-lipped, but he did tell that Iheanacho was preparing to move.

Much to the Foxes faithful’s delight, the Manchester City manager has let his words flow this time around, addressing the Kelechi Iheanacho to Leicester City rumours the right way. He said:

"He said: “I think Kelechi leaves us in favour of Leicester. I think so, but I do not want to say anything wrong either.“We will see. If that does not happen, he will be part of the group.”"

The Manchester City forward scored nine goals (and assisted three), having only started equally as many games last season. Goals against Manchester United, Southampton, Borussia Monchengladbach and Celtic further prove how good he is and how very good he can be.

Also, the fact that Manchester City have a buy-back clause for Kelechi Iheanacho speaks volumes of the ability he has for someone of his age. He may not come across as someone who’s very skilful or has all the trickery up his sleeves, but he does know what to do with the ball.
