Leicester City would be expecting nothing but a win as they take on Leeds United in the Carabao Cup round of 16 at the King Power Stadium.

Having broken an unwanted winless streak against Swansea City last week, the Foxes can finally feel confident about going on a winning run, and it all starts with the all-important fixture against Leeds tonight.

Kick-off time: 19.45 BST

Television: None.

Referee: Lee Probert

Back to winning ways

A managerial change seems to work for Leicester City all the time, doesn’t it? Having got rid of Craig Shakespeare, the Foxes won their first Premier League game since their 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion, beating the Swans away from home in a 2-1 win.

The mental barrier now probably off the way, a league cup tie against old foes Leeds United appears to be the perfect opportunity for Michael Appleton’s Leicester to set the tone nicely before the new manager takes over.

The Whites would themselves be hungry to hunt down the Foxes, having found their winning formula back in a 3-1 win over Bristol City (A) after three consecutive defeats to Cardiff City, Sheffield Wednesday and Reading respectively.

Ideally, however, Leicester City should be able to overcome the Leeds challenge with the kind of potential they hold. All they need to do is to be wary of the opponent’s threat and give them the respect they deserve.

Man to watch

Islam Slimani has been Leicester City’s league cup hero, having already netted thrice in two appearances. The Algerian almost certain to start tonight, he could be the man to fire his side to the quarter-final.
