Having refused a loan offer by the championship side in the summer, Ahmed Musa has revealed that the choice to move from Leicester City to the Tigers is proving a difficult one to make.

Hull City who are managed by Musa’s former CSKA Moscow head coach Leonid Slutsky attempted to sign the him on loan in the summer.

Slutsky persists he is still interested in getting the attacking player come January.

The Nigeria international is yet to feature in the Premier League this time round, despite new manager Claude Puel taking over from Craig Shakespeare.

The 25-year-old has maintained that a step down a league to the Championship would be a stretch too far.

"Speaking  to Russian website ‘sport-express’ he said: “The problem is Hull are in the Championship.“It is for this reason that it’s hard for me to decide.”"

Musa spent four years at CSKA alongside Slutsky in a spell that saw the winger score 42 goals in 107 first team appearances.

He believes during his time in the Russian capital they struck a good bond.

"“We are always in touch, we communicate warml” he said. “The coach has always helped me to feel confident, to believe in my strength. He really calls me to Hull City. I just cannot physically tell him ‘no’. Perhaps in the near future I will play for his team. again. “"

With numerous reports emerging, claiming that Leicester are interested in the signings of Sheffield Wednesday’s Geroge Horst and New York City winger Jack Harrison, the chances of first team football for the  former record signing are looking slim.

Musa arrived to English Football 15 months ago for what was then a club record fee of £17 million.

He has struggled to kick on since then and has only made seven starts with the rest of his 14 appearances coming off the bench.

With his  last Leicester appearance coming in the 4-1 EFL Cup win over Championship outfit Sheffield United.

He is currently with the Nigeria  squad having been in Russia earlier in the week.

Alongside club teammate Wilfred N’didi, the duo have been preparing to face Argentina in Krasnodar.
