Leicester City reach agreement to sell Riyad Mahrez
Leicester City have reportedly agreed to sell Riyad Mahrez, shall their valuation of the player be met, according to a number of reports in France.
Riyad Mahrez has been the subject of much speculation since the start of the 2017/18 season, but the Algerian is yet to receive an offer from any of the interested clubs in the January transfer window.
Since the appointment of Claude Puel, Mahrez has been striking all the right notes, scoring six goals and assisting four in the thirteen games played under the Frenchman so far.

His fine form has given way to yet more rumours surrounding his future, with many suggesting that the change of form might also be because of the player’s desire to force a move away.

The Algerian has tried to force a move before – in the summer to be specific – when he issued a statement revealing his “fiercely ambitious” nature and that he wishes to ply his trade at a bigger club.
His honesty, however, reaped little rewards as none of the European giants who had been linked with him, namely Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain made an approach.
To this day, AS Roma remain the only club to have formally made an offer for Riyad Mahrez, though Leicester City rejected all three of their bids, the highest being in the region of £38 million – far below Leicester’s demanded £50 million.

It is still unlikely that Leicester City’s valuation would be met, but there is a glimmer of hope with Arsenal being heavily linked to Mahrez as Alexis Sanchez heads towards the exit door. The Chilean’s proposed move to Manchester City might result in Riyad Mahrez signing for the Gunners.
