Newcastle United and Stoke City are the favourites to sign Leicester City flop Kelechi Iheanacho, as per Bet Victor’s latest odds.

Iheanacho has run out of favour at the King Power Stadium just a few months after he had been snapped up in what was reported as the coup of the summer for Leicester City. Signed for £25 million by Craig Shakespeare, the Nigerian was expected to light up the East Midlands, but he has hardly started a game for Leicester.

During his horrid tenure at Leicester City, Kelechi Iheanacho has made 12 appearances, starting only a couple of games and scoring just once (Vs Leeds United in the FA Cup fourth round). Destined for an exit, he is now being linked with a number of Premier League clubs, though the most likely destinations are Newcastle United, Stoke City and Turkish giants Besiktas at 4/1, according to Bet Victor.

Placed right behind them are West Ham United at 6/1, while Southampton, AFC Bournemouth, Watford, Crystal Place and West Bromwich Albion are all the outsiders at 8/1.

Earlier this week, The Sun had reported that Leicester City are prepared to offload Kelechi Iheanacho, even if it means taking a significant loss. One of the reasons behind the urgency is his £115,000-a-week wage, which is doing more bad than good to Leicester City and their books.

A source was reported as saying:

"“The problem is Kelechi is earning around £115,000-a-week on a five-year deal and no club will currently want to take him on those wages.“So Leicester might have to let him go for a lot cheaper than they paid for him if they decide to sell now.”"

Certainly, one has to question those in charge of Leicester City’s transfer dealings when the three of their most expensive signings – all of them strikers – have simply flopped, and to be fair to them, without ever getting their chance to prove a point.
