Jurgen Klopp not looking to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City
Jurgen Klopp is not looking to bring Riyad Mahrez to Liverpool, according to James Joyce of The Times.
The Reds were “reported” to have opened talks with the Algerian’s representatives over a transfer to Anfield following Phillipe Coutinho’s £142 million transfer to FC Barcelona, but it seems that Liverpool are not interested in the 26-year old’s magic anymore, with Klopp unlikely to make a move in the near or distant future.
The Merseyside outfit have become the umpteenth team to have been linked with Riyad Mahrez and not made any formal approach, which is a bit of a shock after what we have been seeing from the 2015/16 player of the year.
Manchester United have signed Alexis Sanchez, so there’s no way he’s off to Old Trafford, while Arsenal are already done with their business, having got Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of the swap deal, and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang looking increasingly likely to sign soon.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have taken a liking to expressing interest in every physically strong 6ft tall centre-forward, which again points in one direction: Riyad Mahrez isn’t going to the Stamford Bridge either. The big question therefore is: Does anyone even want the Leicester City winger?
For all of the speculation, the paper talk and whatnot, AS Roma are the only club till date to have ever approached Leicester for Mahrez (and they had all four of their bids rejected) ever since he caught the eyes of Europe a couple years back. Shocking.

Well, whatever may the case be, Riyad Mahrez is a Leicester City player for now – and he’s happy with that – unless, of course, the club tries to block his transfer.
