Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa has re-joined Brighton and Hove Albion on loan for the rest of the season.

The move sees the Argentine return back to the side that Leicester initially bought him from back in 2014, as he helped the Foxes return to the Premier League before scoring some crucial goals late in the title-winning campaign of 2015/16 under Claudio Ranieri.

Earlier on, La Liga clubs Levante and Leganes had both registered interest in signing Leonardo Ulloa; however, no approach was made by either of the two, paving the way for Chris Hughton to simply go and get his man.

Ulloa had for long been a forgotten name at Leicester City, and especially since the start of this season. He made just seven appearances (two starts) in 2017/18, recording two assists in the process.

The former Almeria striker endured similar fortunes last season too as he managed to start four of the 24 games he featured in across all competitions, finding the net just once all season. However, despite being mostly out of favour, the 31-year old signed a contract extension at the club, keeping him at the King Power Stadium till 2019.

The new contract wasn’t signed without drama, though, as he had all but sealed a £7.5 million transfer to Sunderland back in the summer, but it fell apart at the last moment, something that he openly expressed his disappointment at.

Ulloa made up for his behaviour soon after, earning the faith of Craig Shakespeare at the time (and a contract), but the promises made departed with the sacking of the Englishman.
