Andy King has called it a day at Leicester City, stating that he might make his loan move to Swansea City permanent at the end of the season.

The Welshman moved to the Liberty Stadium late on the Deadline Day, leaving Leicester after 14 years of incommensurable service. Although the 29-year old wished to stay at the club, a lack of playing time meant that his days in the East Midlands were numbered.

Now that Andy King is a Swansea City player for the rest of the campaign, the former Chelsea man reckons that he could well end up moving to the Welsh club on a permanent deal, ending his long association with the club.

Speaking to Swansea City’s official website following the completion of his loan move, the one-time Premier League winner said:

"“I have had some great times at Leicester City and there are some great memories, but I think the time was definitely right to move on.“My time at Leicester had come to an end. I was not really involved and I am not one of those players who wants to train and not be involved on a Saturday.“I wanted to come and try something new. It looks like a great place to live. I know a few of the lads already and they spoke very highly of the club.“If the loan all goes well over the next few months and the club are happy with the work I have done, maybe I can stay here longer.”"

There’s no doubting the fact that there will be a lot of sad faces as and when Andy King departs for the final time to bring about an end to what has been a magical career at Leicester City.

Arriving as a 15-year old from Chelsea, King soon made his first-team debut for the Foxes, establishing himself as a mainstay in a side that then plied its trade in the League 1.

Since then, Andy King’s career at Leicester has only been the stuff of fairytales, with the Wales international winning everything from the League 1 to the Sky Bet Championship and of course, the Premier league title in 2015/16. Till date, he remains the only player in the Premier League era.

They don’t make the ilk anymore.
