Riyad Mahrez currently deserves better than Leicester City, according to the Algerian national team manager Rabah Madjer.

The Algeria boss has jumped onto the “support Mahrez” bandwagon after his recent comments, which will most likely end up receiving widespread criticism from the Leicester faithful.

While Madjer has maintained his sympathetic tone for Riyad Mahrez, he doesn’t, however, want his star player to keep missing the training and has advised him to return back as soon as possible.

Speaking to Goal, he said:

"“Mahrez currently deserves better than Leicester, but we must not forget that it was Leicester who put him on the right track.“I think a serious conversation with his board is needed. He wants to go to a bigger club in the English league. I do not know what really happened about his transfer.”“Me, I advise him to resume training and work hard, even if the transfer has not been resolved.“And we must not forget that there are the games of the national team (that will come soon) and a preparation. May he come back to us in great shape. I hope that later the doors will be opened by a bigger club.”"

Riyad Mahrez has not returned to training with Leicester City, as doubts over his return to action keep on touching new heights with every single day passing by. The player is understood to be fairly depressed with the way City have acted, so much so that even the PFA is now ready to step in to help the player recover from a second failed transfer in as many transfer windows.

The 26-year seemed destined to leave Leicester for Manchester City after the league leaders had bid about £50 million as their first offer before submitting four bids for the Algerian, the final one being £65 million and a player on the Deadline Day.

However, the Foxes are said to have been pretty stubborn with their £95 million valuation, just double of what they demanded from AS Roma when they bid close to £38 million back in the summer.

Riyad Mahrez will probably be sat cursing FC Barcelona, who are said to have played a part in his failed move by buying Phillipe Coutinho for an unbelievable £142 million in the same window.
