Leicester City loanee Andy King can see similarities between his home back in the East Midlands and his current club Swansea City.

The Welshman moved to the Liberty Stadium late on the Deadline Day, leaving Leicester after 14 years of incommensurable service. Although the 29-year old wished to stay at the club, a lack of playing time meant that his days in the East Midlands were numbered.

Now that Andy King is a Swansea City player, he’s enjoying his time over there, having scored in his side’s 4-1 trouncing of West Ham United to boost their survival hopes.

The Swans are 13th placed in the Premier League table with 30 points, looking firmly in control of their own fate. There may not be any guarantees of staying up even with Carlos Caravalhal’s Swans doing really well, but with the players that King sees around him, he’s confident that avoiding relegation won’t certainly be a miracle.

Drawing comparisons with Leicester City, he said:

"“It would be a massive achievement to stay up, but with these players anything is possible,” he said.“I don’t want to go down the miracle route because when you have good players – as we have here and do at Leicester – who apply themselves then you have every chance of success.“This was a great performance but it is just three points and we have some results to get. We know where we need to get to.“But I do see them (the similarities with Leicester). When I came here we were in the bottom three and it could have been doom and gloom around the place but they are a positive bunch of players with a positive manager and that is coming out on the pitch.“You can see at some places you do see that doom and gloom if teams are underachieving but that is not the case here.“The crowd are positive too and that counts for a lot. Good results build confidence and the two games against Liverpool and Arsenal were big in terms of that.”"

The former Chelsea man recently stated that he could well end up moving to the Welsh club on a permanent deal, ending his long association with Leicester City. There’s no doubting the fact that there will be a lot of sad faces as and when Andy King departs for the final time to bring about an end to what has been a magical career at Leicester City.

Arriving as a 15-year old from Chelsea, King soon made his first-team debut for the Foxes, establishing himself as a mainstay in a side that then played in League 1.

Since then, Andy King’s career at Leicester has only been the stuff of fairytales, with the Wales international winning everything from the League 1 to the Sky Bet Championship and of course, the Premier league title in 2015/16. Till date, he remains the only player in the Premier League era to have done so.
