Eredivisie outfit ADO Den Hagg’s Sam van Huffel is on trial at Leicester City, as reported by the Leicester Mercury.
Currently a part of the U-21s side, the Dutchman has featured 11 times for them this season, assisting three goals in the process.
One of those assists came in a 3-2 win over RKC Waalwijk as the Leicester City scouts watched him in action.
The 19-year old has also attracted interest from Premier League’s big boys, Manchester United and Chelsea. While he is reported to have already had a trial with the Reds, he is due to be off to London for a trial with the Blues, too.
If Leicester City go ahead and buy him later in the summer, Sam van Huffel would probably either be sent on loan or be a part of an excellent Leicester City’s U-21s side, which has a lot of other very good players who are all ready to take a step forward.
Harvey Barnes (U-20s), Darnell Johnson (U-20s) George Thomas (U-21s) and Alex Pascanu (U-21s), Demarai Gray, Ben Chilwell, Wilfred Ndidi, Demarai Gray and even Fousseni Diabate – who Claude Puel has right away handed a place in the first team – are all top players in the making, reassuring those in charge that the future lies in good hands.
Next: Ben Chilwell or Christian Fuchs: Who do Leicester City pick?
Claude Puel’s willingness to give more chances to young players has certainly helped, and as a result, we have seen a much improved Gray, a completely different Ndidi and a maturing Chilwell, all of whom are soon going to form the core of this team.
