Burnley captain Ben Mee will miss the Premier League game against Leicester City because of a shin injury.

The 28-year old missed out on the clash against Watford last week, and it has now been revealed that he is going to be out of action for a minimum of two weeks

Mee’s injury will come as a relief for Leicester City, who are desperate for a win against Burnley this week. The Clarets’ captain has probably been their most important player this season, being one of the major reasons why Sean Dyche’s side have been so good at the back.

They are still a strong defensive unit without him, but Claude Puel’s side now at least have one less problem to deal with – and even that’s a blessing at this stage of the season.

Leicester City are six points adrift of Burnley and in danger of falling further apart if they don’t turn up this weekend, as was the case against Newcastle United.

Whereas the visitors were disciplined, organised and played with authority, City had the look of a team that simply wasn’t aware about what they were supposed to do with the ball at their feet.

Some people have been quick to blame Claude Puel for the recent displays, but they must understand that the Frenchman doesn’t necessarily have the team that he wants, and to add to that, he has lost his midfield options, too.

The Foxes do seem clueless – yes – but with Puel’s favoured personnel and a team that has his stamp on it, everything may start falling into place.
