Leicester City midfielder Marc Albrighton has been charged by the FA following his red card against Crystal Palace and has until 6 p.m. on Thursday to respond.

The Sun had earlier reported that Mike Dean hadn’t made any mention – or notified the authorities – of Albrighton’s foul-mouthed rant that seemed to be directed at him; however, it now turns out that the 28-year old isn’t going to get lucky, after all.

Albrighton’s ban will definitely cause more unrest at Leicester City as he would now miss the mid-week game against Arsenal, too, as well as missing this weekend’s encounter against West Ham United at the King Power Stadium.

Of course, his absence makes life even tougher for Claude Puel in what are looking like his final days in the East Midlands.

The Frenchman has already lost Vicente Iborra, Matty James and Wilfred Ndidi to injuries, and with Albrighton set to be absent on Saturday and the game that follows, he won’t have too many players to bank upon to do a job and earn him the points that he needs.

These are the kind of players that you need in games of tough nature, as they can often give you an advantage over the opponent because of their incredible work rate, something that Leicester City really need.

It’s one of those times now when Puel will really regret letting Andy King leave on loan to Swansea City. The Welshman would have been very handy in the middle of the park, not to forget Chelsea’s £35 million summer signing Danny Drinkwater, who would have been of some use, surely?
