Claude Puel wants both Aleksandar Dragovic and Jonny Evans on board, as he looks to paint Leicester City in his own colours – that’s according to the Leicester Mercury.

Defensive reinforcements are high on priority for the Foxes this summer, having suffered at the back all season. Leicester want additions in the midfield as well, but it looks like Puel is not concerned about that at the moment.

The Frenchman has already added FC Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira for £22 million, but the central defence is still in need of at least two more players with Wes Morgan well past his best and Robert Huth gone.

And those two players could be West Bromwich Albion’s Jonny Evans, a long-term target, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Aleksandar Dragovic, who Leicester City signed on loan last season.

While Evans’ £3 million deal looks to be a simple one despite the agent demanding £4 million, it is Dragovic who will take some effort to convince.

The 27-year old made just 18 appearances for Leicester City last season, starting a mere 12 of those, even though he impressed almost every single time when he was given the chance to play.

To no one’s surprise, the Austrian did feel hard done by when an out of depth Morgan continued to retain his place in the side, and he had to sit on the bench for no apparent reason.

Thankfully, Claude Puel has had a timely reminder that Dragovic is one of the best options available to him – and cheaply as well. He does want to play in the Premier League, but would he want to play for Leicester City anymore? Let’s leave that to Puel.
