Leicester City want to sign the ‘Turkish Messi’ Abdulkadir Omur
Leicester City want to sign Abdulkadir Omur from Trabzonspor and are reportedly working on a deal to sign him, according to Turkish outlet Haberturk.
The Foxes would be willing to pay £20 million for the 18-year old, but they’d have to fight off competition from Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur, who also have him on their radar.
Branded the “Turkish Messi”, Abdulkadir Omur has six assists and three goals in 32 appearances this season as a wide midfielder who operates mostly on the right. He can, however, play on the left as well.
With Trabzonspor determined to keep hold of him, and some top clubs monitoring his situation, it seems like another transfer that Leicester City could find tough to get over the line.
The £20 million budget to sign the young star might help, but then again, you could perhaps pay about £5 million more and sign Norwich’s James Maddison.
The Championship sensation is another player linked to Leicester City as a possible replacement for Riyad Mahrez. Bursting on to the scene last season with an astonishing 15 goals and 11 assists as an attacking midfielder, the Englishman has earned quite a few admirers in the country.
While the bookies have the Foxes as the favourites to sign the 21-year old, Sky Sources suggest otherwise, reporting that it’s Everton who are leading the race to sign who could potentially be the next big thing in England.

The same, however, could be said of Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, who, like Maddison, has been eyed by Leicester after an astounding 2017/18 and is now set for the next chapter.
