Demarai Gray to Lazio – Leicester City winger on his way out
By Josh Curnock
Reports have emerged that Leicester City winger Demarai Gray is interesting Serie A club SS Lazio as they look for potential replacements for outgoing Felipe Anderson – who has also been linked with the Foxes.
It is unclear how serious their interest in the England under 21 international is – but he is on a shortlist of players they are currently looking at.
The Birmingham born winger has failed to nail down a starting position at Leicester despite being highly rated amongst the backroom staff at the King Power Stadium.
Last season was his best in a Leicester shirt registering 4 goals and 4 assists across all competitions – However the feeling amongst Leicester City fans is they are not seeing his full potential.
Gray has all the attributes to become a top footballer with his direct running, quick feet and bravery to take his man on – However certain aspects of his game haven’t improved as foxes fans would have liked.
Their frustrations come from Gray running into trouble too often and not enough end product – with his decision-making coming into question.
Could it be possible that Demarai Gray could be used as a bargaining chip for a potential deal involving Felipe Anderson? With Riyad Mahrez seemingly on his way out of the King Power, it seems Leicester could be upping their efforts to replace him.
Leicester could be using the 21-year-old winger to persuade Lazio to do a deal with them for the brazilian attacker in response to the Mahrez possibly leaving.
Felipe Anderson seems to be on his way out of the Italian club – with West Ham United thought to be his most likely destination. However this could swing a deal back in Leicester’s favour.
